Club Lotto: Jackpot Reaches €4,600

Another week has come and gone, and as the legendary Marty Whelan says, “How do you win? You buy a ticket!” Our first draw of the New Year took place on Thursday, January 7th.

We would like to extend a massive thank you to everyone who supports our lotto week in and week out; your contribution is vital and deeply appreciated by everyone at the club.

* Numbers Drawn: 3 - 10 - 11 - 24
* Jackpot: No Winner (€4,500)
* Lucky Dip Winners (€30 each): Philip McGowan (Online), Thomas Lambden (Online), Leo John Penrose (Ticket), Patrick Wallace (Ticket), and Ancel Boyce (Ticket).

Next Draw: Thursday, January 15th. New Jackpot: €4,600. Tickets are available from committee members, local village businesses, or online via our Facebook and Instagram pages.

2026 Membership Now Open

It is that time of year again! Membership for 2026 is now officially open for purchase. Being a member isn't just about supporting the club; it grants you full access to our excellent facilities, including our gym and walking track. Whether you are a player or a supporter, we invite you to be a part of the Ballynacargy GAA community.

Membership Tiers:

Adult Playing: €60; Adult Non-Playing: €60; OAP’s: €40; Under 18s: €30 & Family Membership: €120 (Includes 2 Adults and all juveniles)

New Year ‘Clear Out’ Clothes Collection

Start 2026 with a clutter-free home while supporting your club! We are currently seeking donations for our clothes collection.

* Items Needed: Clothes (all sizes), Shoes, and Linen.
* Drop-off Point: Please leave bags in the designated dressing room at the clubhouse. Every bag makes a difference—thank you for your continued support!

Ireland Lights Up & Steps Challenge 2026

Ballynacargy GAA is delighted to announce the return of the "Ireland Lights Up" initiative in conjunction with the Irish Life GAA Healthy Clubs Steps Challenge. After the success of previous years, we are throwing open our gates once again to help the community start the new year on the right foot.

Begun Thursday, January 8th, and continuing every Thursday for five weeks, our walking track will be fully lit from 7:00pm to 9:00pm.

Whether you are looking to put those new Christmas Fitbits and smartwatches to the test, aiming to hit your step goals, or simply fancy a breath of fresh air and a friendly chat with neighbours, this event is for everyone.

Come down and join us for some exercise, community spirit, and a bright start to 2026! 

Ballynacargy GAA Underage News

A massive thank you to everyone who attended our Underage AGM on Monday. It was great to see such a strong turnout and hear your ideas for the upcoming season.

​Our committee is busy planning a fun-filled and competitive 2026 for all our young stars. We are currently seeking additional volunteers and coaches to join the team; if you can help in any way, please message our social media pages.

St. Brigid’s National School Fundraiser
​New Year’s Day Success

The community of St. Brigid’s is celebrating a highly successful New Year’s Day fundraiser, which saw a fantastic turnout and incredible local support. We are thrilled to announce that the event raised a grand total of €1,527.60.

​Fundraising Breakdown
The total was compiled through several local efforts, including:
• ​GAA Pitch Collection: €745.00
• ​Wagon Wheel Raffle: €347.60
• ​Darts Tournament: €235.00
• ​Wagon Wheel Donation: €200.00

​Sponsorship & Thanks
The organizers would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who participated and donated. Sincere gratitude is also extended to Owen Finnerty, Robert Troy, and the management of the Wagon Wheel for their generous sponsorship of the raffle prizes.

​Special mention must go to Martin Keville, Owen Finnerty, and Alan Boyce for their hard work and invaluable assistance in coordinating the draw and the darts tournament. This event was a true testament to the local community spirit.
​Presentation

A formal presentation recently took place where Owen Finnerty and Aidan Lyons presented the cheque to representatives of St. Brigid’s National School.
